This is a rare TV spot where Max actually played live, filmed at the CBC Soundstage on Yonge St in Toronto. It was broadcast on October 25, and called A Little Special. Considering that some of the audio and video don't perfectly match, it's certain that multiple takes of at least some of the songs were filmed.

- Terry Watkinson : Keyboards
- Gary McCracken : Drums
- Dave Myles : Bass

After the audience filed in, it seemed to take a while before the show started. They were setting levels, etc. I had already seen Max 3 times so I guess I was expecting a full concert. The TV performance was short by comparison. The band seemed very focused and emphasized tunes from their latest album. The comparatively small space and audience gave a unique feel to this Max experience. And it seemed everyone in the audience was a true Max fan, unlike at the Rush shows or Max’s high school gigs that were populated with kids who often attended for something to do. At the CBC, I felt like standing up and rushing to the front but we all had to settle for bopping in our seats. If I recall correctly, they might have stopped between songs a few times for technical reasons. The crazy side of Kim and Terry was mostly on hold but the playing was very tight. Paradise Skies really popped.

I was there for A Little Special when Dave broke the neck off his bass. Dave spun around and hit the pole. He was trying to make it nice for the camera. The CBC was there with their big lights on for filming. Stage lighting is one thing, but lighting for a filming is a different animal altogether. He spun around and thought he was to the side of it.
