During the concert we were dancing and I was literally right up to the risers where they were playing. It was a very intimate venue. Kim smiled at me when I pinched the flesh of my forearm and held it up in front of him, feet away, while he sang "...here to thin the thickness of your skin." I also recall yelling during a song break, "Who the heck is Pye Dubois?" Believe it or not, Kim stopped the set and calmly announced in his low voice, "Pye Dubois is our lead lyricist and an important part of our music," or something close to that.
One comment I remember asking Kim about after I bought him a beer during intermission. His verbatim words were: "Mercury blanked us." Apparently his reference was regarding his former label.
