Fan Stories

Mick Trammel

I was fortunate to see Rush, UFO, and Max Webster in concert in Memphis, TN. Rush was touring for “A Farewell to Kings”, UFO was out on their “Lights Out” tour and Max Webster was touring in support of “High Class in Borrowed Shoes.” I was a HUGE fan of Rush and somewhat of a disciple of guitarist Michael Schenker of UFO. I was thrilled at the thoughts of being seated less than 20 feet from the stage. I would not be disappointed to say the least.

And the “Crème de la crème” of the entire evening? Being introduced to the sounds and imagery of Max Webster!

I was totally mesmerized by what I heard and witnessed from Kim Mitchell and the rest of the Max Machine. I knew I would rush out the next day and purchase any recordings I could of this band. “High Class in Borrowed Shoes” would stay on my turntable for months to come. I told everyone I could of this Canadian band that quickly become one of my favorites.
