The sessions for High Class In Borrowed Shoes began on November 28, 1976, as confirmed by Mitchell between songs at Larry's Hideaway three days earlier.
The Mitchell/Dubois composition Don't Be A Moon was recorded for the album, and was slated to be on it as late as the spring (confirmed by Mitchell's banter at their New Yorker Theatre gig on March 26, 1977 after performing the song) but ultimately pulled at the eleventh hour.
